Are there more beautiful words contained in a prayer than those of the Anima Christi? Often prayed after receiving the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, during Eucharist Adoration, or before a crucifix - the words of the prayer draws one in to be one with Christ, asking to be untied forever with Him.
Often attributed to St. Ignatius of Loyola, the prayer predates his use of it as it appeared in prayer books as early as the 14th century. The Anima Christi has been a favorite prayer of many of the Saints.
